Our History

The New Testament Church of God, Southampton was founded in 1964 by the late, Reverend McIntyre, with approximately ten founder members who met at 19 Cranbury Avenue, Newtown, Southampton. From there the meeting place moved to Lyon Street where a small hall was rented to hold services; the minister was then Reverend GB Henry who has since emigrated to Jamaica.

As the church continued to grow, it became necessary to change the venue. So we then started to meet in another rented hall in Osbourne Road, Portswood, Southampton. Following great personal effort from the members of the church, who became involved in house to house collections, street trading, building rallies and other activities; the building in Ivy Road was purchased in 1971, and it is here that the Church remains today.
